We had such thanksgiving dinner
We ate more than we were able
To eat; in fact, we ate it all -
We also ate the table
It was there when we started
And filled with all our spread
But when dinner was ended
It wasn’t where we said
I don’t remember biting
Into the legs and all that wood
But we ate so many other things
If any would, we could
And now I think of Christmas
And future dinners to prepare
I’ll have to look for recipes
For carpet and for chair.
